The 3DS version of the game uses the system’s stereoscopic 3D to give the player a “true sense of speed”. A port for the Wii U was released in October 2012.
Sonic Generations was released in November 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS. The game features levels from various Sonic the Hedgehog games, but is primarily set in Green Hill Zone from the original game. Classic Sonic is based on his appearance in the original 1991 Sega Genesis game, Sonic the Hedgehog, while Modern Sonic is based on his more recent 3D appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Sonic Generations is a platform game in which players control the anthropomorphic blue hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog in two forms: Classic and Modern.
